The new Box Hill to Ringwood path is proving very popular with both cyclists and walkers since it opened almost a year ago. However, one issue of concern has emerged – people allowing dogs to wander off lead on the path. We think this is a safety issue as the high quality path means cyclists are likely to be riding fairly fast. Unrestrained dogs pose a safety risk.
We have asked VicRoads and Whitehorse Council to erect signage requiring dogs to be on lead at all times. Stay tuned!
