There is a need for an approximate 1 km connection between the Waverley Rail Trail (WRT) at Jordanville Station to the Gardiners Creek Trail (GCT) at High St Road, Ashwood via Electra Reserve and High St Road.
Creation of this vital link will aid the creation of a safe cycling network of high quality AustRoads conforming paths, promoting greater use of the existing bike path infrastructure by increasing the contiguous network of safe paths to promote community health and well-being.
The connection can be achieved through a combination of an upgrade to existing routes to match the standard of the adjoining WRT and GCT and new infrastructure.
A formal proposal has been submitted to the City of Monash.
