Box Hill Integrated Transport Strategy

Whitehorse Council, with consultants AECOM has been developing its Box Hill Integrated Transport Strategy since late 2019.

The strategy recognises the importance of active transport, walking and cycling. MeBUG believes improvements can be made for cyclists travelling through Box Hill via the Box Hill to Ringwood path and the future planned Hawthorn to Box Hill path, now being planned by the Victorian government. MeBUG has made a further submission to address this issue.

The final strategy has now been completed (October 2020) and approved by the council. It may be accessed on the Whitehorse Council website here.

Box Hill Metropolitan Activity Centre

Update April 2022

MeBUG in cooperation with Boroondara BUG and WATAG is advocating for improvements in cycling access through Box Hill, for both the east-west connection of the Box Hill to Ringwood trail and the Hawthorn to Box Hill proposed Strategic Cycling Corridor. There are serious planning issues affecting these routes, that need to be addressed. A comprehensive letter has been sent to the Victorian Premier, raising concerns and calling for action.
